Overview

NATIONAL ‘AROGYA Fair’ 2017

Global trends indicate that the natural medicine is going to be preferred resort of health care for chronic lifestyle and geriatric disorders and Indian systems of medicine can play a significant role in tackling emerging health problems. The future of telehealth on a global scale is promising for addressing the chronic care burden of every country and the increasing use of herbal medicines and the growing demand of the global market for such products has raised concerns on the quality and safety of herbal materials and finished herbal products with the respective National health authorities. Although traditional systems of medicine have been recognized and accepted in most countries, efforts to provide validated techniques to ensure the quality, safety and efficacy of products are being developed.

According to the WHO, nearly 80% of the people in Asian and African countries use traditional medicines as their primary medical aid.

 PHD Arogya

There is global resurgence in traditional and alternative health care systems resulting in world herbal trade which stands at US$ 120 billion and is expected to reach US$ 7 trillion by 2050. Indian share in the world trade, at present, however, is quite low.

The need of the hour is to lay emphasis on the up gradation of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy and Alternative Medicines educational standards, quality control and standardization of drugs, improving the availability of medicinal plant material, research and development and awareness generation about the efficacy of the systems domestically and internationally.

Against this backdrop PHD Chamber in association with Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India & Government of Andhra Pradesh is organizing National ‘Arogya Fair’ from 8th-11th September 2017 at Andhra University Grounds, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
